Digital, Solar & Storage 2018 will be held in The BMW World (BMW Welt in German) which is situated outside the city centre, near the Olympic park. The building, built in 2007, features fascinating, futuristic architecture spanning an area of 5,000 m². Solar installations of 800KW cover the roof of this impressive building.
Travelling by plane?
The closest airport Munich International Airport (MUC) is officially known as Franz Josef Strauss and is located 21.1 miles from the venue.
From the airport, you reach BMW World in 25 minutes via Uber or taxi. The estimated Uber fare is 45-65 euros and 60-80 euros for a taxi. Of course, times and prices are subject to change and depend on the time of day/traffic. Alternatively, public transport is available as detailed below.
Travelling by public transport?
The closest train station to the venue is Olympiazentrum.
From the airport: Take the S8 train to Munich Marienplatz station and change on to the U3 train to Olympiazentrum. The journey takes approx. 1 hour.
From the central station: From Munich Marienplatz station, take the U3 train to Olympiazentrum. The trains run every 10 minutes and a ticket will cost 1-3 euros.
Travelling by car?
The BMW Welt is in the direct vicinity to the Georg-Brauchle-Ring – the starting point for five autobahns and rapid access road to all the city’s most important traffic nodes. On leaving the autobahn, follow the signs on the Mittlerer Ring (B2R) until you reach Lerchenauer Straße. The BMW Welt underground parking facilities offer sufficient parking opportunities. If you are using an onboard navigation system, please enter Lerchenauer Straße 57 as your destination.
